Taken in April of 2005 - his sister's wedding. I am pretty much smashed right now. Can't tell if you can see that or not.

Holiday tastic - the Christmas festivities have ceased for the year and I can't complain - It was so great to see my brother who has literally become one of the coolest and most hard core people I know. The limited amount of verbal discourse on life on the fishing boat left me awestruck and fearful that he will poke his eye out, literally. Yet his demeanor is so pleasant and sincere and mature that I find myself wishing I lived closer to him - but Alaska...which is the closest state of the union to the Aleutian Islands where he matriculates - is way too far away from what I call home. My parents were just beaming to have us home - it was great. I love my family - Eddie asked all these questions about my family which made me realize what a great time he had when he came home for Thanksgiving...minus the fact that my dog is getting so old and really may die at any time (or "croak" as my brother says), everyone is doing very well, especially my mother who is at a very good, solid 110 pounds. Hurrah:) I also got some time in with Lena...we're planning a trip to LA in June or July (she's going to Tanzania with her parents and Eduardo and I to the UK and Guatamala, so naturally our new goals since motherhood is way out of the question is for each of us to see as much of the world as possible). I caught up on my reading - two Economists on the plane ride to and from. Excellent articles - "Jesus, CEO" (on churches as businesses, using Willow Creek as an example FYI: Harvard Business uses Willow Creek in their curriculum), America's poor vs. World wide poor (FYI: Only 6% of America's poor constitute homes with more occupants than rooms), etc...but of course, some were a little too conservative (see their article on health care costs and so-called frivolous law suits). Captions were amazing as usual.

In other news, Congratulations to ERICK for updating his blog which I love to read so much.

No new years eve plans yet - sighs. I hate this cumbersome build up. Over 50% chance of it being lame and WAY too expensive makes me want to hibernate with a full belly cuddled next to another warm body.

Back to work.
