A few funny lines of the day:

"This moment will be over soon, she seems to whisper, but fake-married is forever."

and also -

Happies Place on Earth Kills Again

Its hot out and I am sweating like a pig. Its gross and evidently undiagnosable - I went to the MD again and still no conclusive answers, just more drugs and this like weird vibrating foot machine? That I order online? Yeah.

The best part is the man's FACE ("Look at my bunny!")

I am in love with this.

Last night I saw the movie Friends with Money, and I really enjoyed it. I have realized that I really enjoy shows which depict the friendships and relationships between women, even when they are exaggerated (see Desperate Housewives). The best part of this movie was how the friends are seen talking about one another, with their husbands or with the other friends, when one of them isn’t around. Not bashing them or gossiping, just musing about them, which is really true to life. To me it showed how much of a part they are in one another’s life; it showed concern and interest. I know I practice this with my boyfriend regarding my friends. Anyway, it was also a very funny movie in the way the characters processed things said to them or done to them and why they feel certain ways about those things because it really mirrored how I at times have felt, and it made me feel like less of a leper knowing that it was evidently such a universal emotion. Of course I didn’t totally identify with all of the issues in the movie but more so than not. Anyway.

Last weekend Eduardo’s car was broken into – which was really unfortunate as he had been so lucky with driving and parking downtown. Even when I lived in uptown and he drove a much nicer car, nothing like this ever came close to happening. Then I move downtown and he starts driving a Toyota and bam, window broken. The best part about it was that the police saw the guy do the entire thing and arrested him on site. He was a convicted felon who was on parole at the time. Because he stole 1.25 in quarters, he was booked on burglary and theft under $3000.00. Eduardo isn’t sure if he’s going to have to attend the hearing or not. Anyway, it wasn’t the best way to be woken up at 4am, esps since, as you can see below, my building seems to be encountering a lot of problems lately. Oh well. Life in the city, what can I say?

This guy lived in my building. I never knew who he was but whenever something like this happens, it really makes me wonder just what could push someone to this point in their life.

FROM STNG WIRE REPORTS

A 20-year-old man fell to his death early Wednesday after he jumped from the 16th floor of a Near North Side apartment building in an apparent suicide, police said.

Steven Kennedy, of the 1100 block of North La Salle Street, was pronounced dead at 2:55 a.m. at the Stein Institute, according to a Cook County Medical Examiner's office spokesman.

The man jumped from the 16th floor of the building at the North La Salle Street address about 1 a.m., according to police News Affairs Officer David Banks, citing a preliminary report.

The man was found lying in the courtyard of the apartment building, where he was a resident of the 16th floor, said a doorman of the building, reached by phone.

According to the doorman, who asked not to be named, the man was a "nice, friendly guy," and lived alone.

The man was dead on the scene, according to Banks.
