Necessity, they say, is the mother of invention. I have recently invented several "work" outfits that I can safely say would have never been even in the running when I had more time, steam, and money to expend upon my wardrobe. I look like I walked into my closet, blindly pulled a few items off of the hangers, and walked out the door.

This weekend I must go shopping. I must. I would like to buy things that I really enjoy wearing but "work" clothes, esp with a trial coming up, take precedence - I need some new pieces, stat.

In other, more exciting news...
Yesterday I had my third breakdown at work...breakdown = crying. Its amazing the amount of pressure that I likely put on myself at work...to get things done faster, better, and smarter. This pressure is supplemented by emails and conversations with the lawyers which are never short of a request or a "could you..." thrown in. I know that its just my fear of failure that keeps me working so hard but at the end of the day, I feel better knowing that I worked hard and followed through with my job than not. Not really profound, I know, but I think that my future as a lawyer has also been a reason why I have done this. This is perfect learning ground and I don't want to take it for granted.

However, my friend Julie really pulled through yesterday, driving in the rain downtown for a diner + Target date. I am not quite as an illustrious writer when it comes to the joys we shared last night, hence the link to her blog which has a fantastic recap of just what we did. In short, it was a great time to catch up, vent, and laugh. We might even get to do it again, with a movie date on Saturday. Its like the fun never stops...she's hard to resist, that Julie. Especially when she buys you special cereal.
Oh and by the way, Steak and Shake has holiday shakes out...hello EGGNOG MILK SHAKE. My dream is your nightmare. And yes, you were right about there being eggs in egg nog (in hindsight I have little idea as to why I would think otherwise).

Love - 15.
